First Friday

Why is First Friday Special?

Guidelines for Conduct

On the First Friday of each month (September through May), we gather as a group for Mass, followed by classes and activities.

After class, many of us bring picnic lunches and eat at the church. Others go out to eat before we meet for an afternoon of recreation.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us have no self-conceit, no provoking of one another, no envy of one another.

   - Galatians 5:22-26

Mission Statement

Dress Code

We celebrate the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by attending Mass on the First Friday of each month for nine consecutive months. Our Lord promised St. Margaret Mary that those who received the Eucharist during these Liturgies would be blessed with the "grace of final repentance." Many parishes still encourage First Friday devotions among the faithful. Today, many people who grew up with this devotion display an image of the Sacred Heart in their homes and light a candle before Our Lord on First Fridays.

Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and that temple you are.

   - 1 Corinthians 3:16

The Blessed Sacrament Homeschool Group (BSHG) is dedicated to the education of our children based on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. BSHG supports and defends the Truths of the Faith as established by the Authority of the Magisterium, which interprets Sacred Scripture and Tradition. In the spirit of ecumenism, we welcome families who are respectful of our Catholic beliefs.
